The faster Kyrie slows down, the faster he can accelerate or change direction. His ability to control his movements unsettles defenders and gives him full control of the game.

Kyrie Irving wants his shoes to have a snug, custom fit like a boxing glove. The internal dynamic straps emerge from the upper and function as a passage for the laces. Tightening the laces pulls the straps down to create an ultra-comfortable, snug, connected fit.
The cushioning system of the new Kyrie 8 uses the Air Zoom Strobel unit in the forefoot (pad in direct contact with the foot) and Air Zoom in the heel. A soft foam with reduced thickness was selected for the midsole to maximize the energy return of the Zoom unit.
The multi-directional tread is designed for Kyrie's cuts and sprints on the court and provides traction exactly where you need it. Grippy rubber wraps around the sides, especially inside the heel and at the toe, to give you maximum control for lateral movements and changes of direction.
